About the role
MEP Manager – Mechanically Biased | High-End Live Refurbishment | Knightsbridge
We are currently seeking an experienced mechanically biased MEP Manager to join a flagship long-term refurbishment programme within one of London’s most prestigious retail environments in Knightsbridge.
This is a technically challenging live refurbishment environment involving complex mechanical installations, phased delivery, and intrusive works within occupied trading areas. The role would suit someone with a strong background in mechanical building services delivery who has progressed into senior MEP leadership positions across high-end commercial, retail, hotel, healthcare, or refurbishment projects.
This is not a short-term contract. It is an ongoing pipeline of works on a live site, requiring someone comfortable operating within a fast-paced, highly scrutinised environment where coordination, sequencing, and stakeholder management are critical.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the delivery of MEP packages across multiple live work zones, with particular emphasis on complex mechanical services integration within constrained existing environments.
Works include:
*
Mechanical services modifications and rerouting
*
Ductwork and ventilation coordination
*
Sprinkler and public health interfaces
*
Builder’s works coordination
*
Phased commissioning and live services integration
Key Responsibilities
*
Oversee delivery of mechanically led MEP packages on live refurbishment works
*
Coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades within constrained live environments
*
Manage sequencing of intrusive mechanical installations and service diversions
*
Review and challenge technical design, specifications, and drawings
*
Lead commissioning strategy through to handover and sign-off
*
Ensure quality, compliance, and health & safety standards are maintained throughout
*
Coordinate interfaces between MEP services, structural works, and finishes
*
Maintain full QA documentation and handover records
*
Liaise closely with clients, consultants, landlords, and operational stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
*
Mechanically biased MEP background with strong understanding of mechanical building services coordination within complex live environments
*
Proven experience delivering complex refurbishment projects within occupied buildings
*
Experience working within high-end retail, commercial, hotel, healthcare, or similarly demanding environments
*
Strong commissioning and subcontractor management experience
*
Ability to manage stakeholder expectations within operational buildings
*
Comfortable working within fast-paced and programme-critical environments
The Environment
This is a technically demanding and highly scrutinised refurbishment project where expectations are high and coordination is critical. In return, the role offers long-term continuity of work and the opportunity to work on one of London’s most prestigious live refurbishment programmes.
