Secondary Maths Tutor - Halton Location: Halton Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic Secondary Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a learner in Halton. This is an opportunity for a tutor who can make Maths approachable and engaging while providing structured support based around the learner's individual starting point and targets. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 Maths tuition Support KS3 and/or GCSE-level learning Identify gaps in mathematical knowledge Create engaging and appropriately challenging sessions Develop problem-solving and independent learning skills Build learner confidence Review progress and adapt tuition accordingly Requirements Strong Maths subject knowledge Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners GCSE Maths teaching experience desirable Ability to explain concepts clearly Patient, encouraging and flexible approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy
