Overview
An established and well-regarded hospitality venue in the heart of a vibrant Cornish town is seeking a talented Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head Chef looking to put their stamp on a menu, lead a team, and drive standards in a busy, guest-focused environment.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen, from menu development and food quality to team leadership and financial performance. The business offers a mix of classic pub dishes alongside fresh, seasonal specials, with a strong focus on consistency and customer satisfaction.
This Head Chef position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys autonomy, and takes pride in delivering high-quality food while maintaining strong GP margins.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop the kitchen team on a daily basis.
Design and implement seasonal menus as Head Chef, ensuring quality and creativity.
Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Control stock, manage ordering, and maintain strong GP margins.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
Work closely with front of house to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Recruit, train and mentor junior chefs.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up.
Background in fresh food kitchens, ideally within pubs, inns or casual dining environments.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Solid understanding of kitchen financials including GP and cost control.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Passion for seasonal produce and delivering quality dishes.
