Consultant in Acute Medicine – ScotlandLocation: Scotland, UKContract: Permanent | Full-timeHours: 40 hours per weekSalary: 111,430 – 148,064 per annum An excellent opportunity for a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join an established NHS medical team within a modern hospital.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior clinical leadership within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
Manage acute medical admissions, post-take ward rounds and Same Day Emergency Care pathways.
Support patient flow, early discharge and multidisciplinary working.
Supervise junior doctors and Advanced Practitioners.
Contribute to teaching, clinical governance, audit and service development.
Develop a specialist interest or additional clinical skill, subject to service needs.
Essential RequirementsFull GMC registration with a license to practice.
MBBS/MBChB or equivalent.
MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
GMC Registered  or CCT or equivalent accreditation in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine .
Extensive experience in acute medical receiving and general medicine.
Strong clinical leadership, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Commitment to teaching, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance.
