Mobile Plant Engineer

Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer Vacancy in Berkshire! Our client is seeking an experienced Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a mixed fleet of over 100 vehicles, including HGVs and plant machinery, with a primary focus on road sweepers and specialist equipment. Benefits for the successful Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer: Salary of £61,360 per annum (£20/hour plus overtime) Monday to Friday daytime hours, averaging 55 hours per week Every other Saturday off Mobile role covering Berkshire and South of the country Company van and specialist tools provided Ongoing training and development programmes 20 days holiday plus bank holidays Supportive team environment with a well-organised scheduleDuties of the Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer: Conduct maintenance and repairs on HGVs and plant machinery, including chassis and bodywork Service a diverse fleet of approximately 100 vehicles, mainly HGVs and plant equipment Carry out inspections and diagnostics to identify faults and recommend repairs Perform routine servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines Work on vehicles such as road sweepers and other specialised machinery Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations Document maintenance and repairs accurately Assist in training less experienced engineers when needed Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely mannerRequirements: Proven experience as a Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer or in a similar role Strong mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and vehicle systems Experience working on HGVs and plant machinery, including road sweepers NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification is advantageous; time-served candidates also considered UK driving licence; HGV Class 2 licence preferred but not essential if experience is demonstrated Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work scheduled hours, including early starts and one day every other weekend Willingness to undertake ongoing training and qualifications This role is ideal for a proactive, skilled Mobile HGV / Plant Engineer seeking a variety of challenging tasks coupled with professional growth opportunities.
