Role OverviewIn a Nutshell…We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Shift Supervisor to join our team within Vistry Works East Midlands, at our Coalville factory.As our Logistics Shift Supervisor, you will report directly to the Logistics Manager and be responsible for the management of a Logistics team within a timber frame manufacturing facility. Some knowledge of transportation, construction and on-site installation would be beneficial for this roleMore about the Logistics Shift Supervisor role…Manage staffing requirements in the logistics teams including interviews and inductions, time sheets, allocate work schedules and shift planningEnsure all direct reports are suitably trained to carry out their assigned rolesManaging all holidays and absencesConduct any investigations, performance management or other duties as requiredResolve operational issues quickly and effectivelyLead, coach and develop logistics team to achieve performance targetsMaintain paperwork and compliance documentation.Conduct daily briefings with your teamManage all internal Counterbalance/Combi/side loader fleetMonitor workflow to optimise efficiency and minimise bottlenecksPromote a positive, safety focused working environment, conduct toolbox talks, safe use of equipmentMaintain compliance with legal and company safety standardsAdditional responsibilities (not an exhaustive list) Collaborating with appropriate teams to ensure a smooth flow of goods in, removal of WIP and dispatch of finished goodsEnsure that all material requirements are in place for manufacturing, resolving material shortages where possible, or escalating any issuesDaily management of waste levelsEnd of shift hand over and reportsWorking collaboratively with the opposite shift, ensuring that both shifts work as one team to achieve shared goals and targetsYou will ensure all safety and environmental policies are adhered to and applied consistently, including conducting various checks and recording all data associated with themYou will be alert to ‘right first time’ quality standards, informing others where standards are not met so that they can take appropriate action as required to contribute to the production of a quality productYou will be flexible and willing to assist in busier periods where necessary, taking a first hand role to ensure that logistic schedules are metYou will be able to identify, communicate and implement opportunities for continuously improving working methods and seeking efficienciesYou will be required to conduct any reasonable tasks or operations as directed by your line manager in the course of your dutiesFinally, let’s tell you a bit more about us…We build more than homes, we’re making Vistry.
