Accounts Assistant - 9-12 Month FTC
Royston, Hertfordshire | Hybrid (2 days in office)
£32,000 + Benfits Allowance

Our client, a highly respected global organisation, is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join its finance team in Royston on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract.

The Role

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll support a global portfolio of entities. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the month-end close, including journals for fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and intercompany
• Keeping the fixed asset registers accurate: additions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation to the general ledger
• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviewing the Ireland VAT return and posting the related journals
• Helping the Accounting Manager prepare the statutory accounts
• Preparing external audit packs and responding to auditor requests within agreed timeframes
• Preparing SOX audit schedules and supporting the SOX audit team
• Running the intercompany recharge processes you're allocated
• Completing monthly analysis of key P&L accounts
• Documenting and monitoring internal controls and procedures

About You

• At least 2 years' experience in an accounting environment
• Strong Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and pivot tables
• Experience of working with multiple currencies
• Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail and a hands-on approach to digging into transactions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
