Principal Consultant - Stakeholder Engagement (Mid-Senior Level)

RolePurposeERM is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join our Stakeholder Engagement team within Capital Project Delivery. The successful candidatewillleadthedesignanddeliveryofstakeholderengagementprogrammesformajorinfrastructure,energy,renewables,transportanddevelopmentprojects.The role will support clients in securing social acceptance for projects, building constructive relationships with stakeholders, managing project risks, and delivering robust engagement strategies that contributetosuccessfulplanning,consentingandprojectdeliveryoutcomes.StakeholderengagementisagrowingserviceareawithinCPDandplaysanincreasinglyimportantroleinhelpingclientsdevelopprojectsresponsiblyandefficiently. KeyResponsibilitiesClientDeliveryLeadstakeholderengagementworkstreamsonmajorcapitalprojects.Developandimplementstakeholderengagementandconsultationstrategies.Designandfacilitateengagementactivitiesincludingworkshops,publicexhibitions,focusgroups,stakeholderinterviewsandcommunityevents.Adviseclientsonstakeholderrisks,issuesandopportunities.Prepare stakeholderengagementplans,consultationreportsandsupportingplanningdocumentation.Translatecomplextechnicalinformationintoclearandaccessiblecommunicationsfornon-technicalaudiences.SupportdeliveryofSocialImpactAssessment(SIA),EnvironmentalImpactAssessment(EIA)andrelatedconsentapplications.Managestakeholderdatabases,consultationrecordsandreportingrequirements.Ensureprojectsaredeliveredsafely,ontime,withinbudgetandtoERMqualitystandards.ProjectManagementActasProjectManagerorTaskManageronengagementprojects.Managescope,programme,resourcerequirementsandcommercialperformance.CoordinatemultidisciplinaryteamsacrossCPDandwiderERMservicelines.Managesubcontractorsandspecialistsupplierswhererequired.Ensureeffectiveriskmanagementandprojectgovernance.BusinessDevelopmentBuildtrustedrelationshipswithclientsandkeystakeholders.Identifyopportunitiesforcross-sellingandexpandingserviceofferings.Leadandcontributetobids,proposalsandclientpresentations.Supportgrowthofstakeholderengagement,socialvalueandsocialsustainabilityservices.Contributetothoughtleadershipandmarketpositioninginitiatives.TeamLeadershipMentorandcoachconsultantsandseniorconsultants.Sharegoodpractice,toolsandmethodologiesacrosstheteam.Supportrecruitment,onboardingandcapabilitydevelopment.Promotecollaborationacrosstechnicaldisciplinesandgeographies.SkillsandExperienceSignificantexperiencedeliveringstakeholderengagementprogrammesforinfrastructure,energy,utilities,transportation,developmentorenvironmentalprojects.Strongunderstandingofplanning,consentingandEIAprocesses.Experiencemanagingcomplexstakeholderrelationships,includinglocalcommunities,statutoryconsultees,governmentbodiesandindustryorganisations.Provenprojectmanagementcapability,includingbudgetandprogrammemanagement.Excellentfacilitation,communicationandpresentationskills.Strongreportwritingandanalyticalabilities.Experienceleadingmultidisciplinaryprojectteams.Ability tomanagemultiplecompetingprioritieswithinaconsultancyenvironment.DesirableExperiencedeliveringSocialImpactAssessment(SIA).Experienceinsocialvaluestrategyanddelivery.UnderstandingofDCO,TCPA,NSIPormajorinfrastructureconsentingprocesses.Experienceinrenewableenergy,transmission,transportorwatersectors.IAP2,consultation,engagementorparticipationaccreditation.ExistingclientrelationshipswithintheUKinfrastructureandenergysectors.#LI-SG2#LI-HybridERM is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive, it’s an essential part of what makes ERM a great place to build a career and helps us create better solutions for our clients.
