We are working with a well known client who is expanding its Ground Engineering capability, and we’re looking for a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join their Nottingham office. This is a great opportunity to work within a collaborative consultancy environment where your technical insight and problem‑solving skills will help shape high‑quality, sustainable developments across the UK.AboutYou’ll support and deliver geotechnical input across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure schemes. Working closely with our civil and structural teams, you’ll contribute to ground investigation design, geotechnical analysis, and the development of practical, buildable solutions.The roleDesigning and managing ground investigations, including specification, procurement, and supervisionInterpreting ground investigation data and preparing factual and interpretative reportsUndertaking geotechnical analysis such as foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, retaining structures, and ground improvementWorking with software such as GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, WALLAP, or similar toolsLiaising with clients, contractors, and regulators to support project deliveryContributing to multidisciplinary design teams and supporting junior staff where appropriateWhat they’re looking forDegree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related disciplineExperience in a consultancy or contracting environment (open to a range of experience levels)Strong understanding of UK ground conditions, geotechnical design principles, and relevant standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProgress toward professional accreditation (IEng/CEng/Chartered Geologist) is advantageousWhats on offerCompetitive salary and benefits packageHybrid working optionsSupport for professional development and chartershipA friendly, supportive team with a strong technical reputationOpportunities to work on varied and technically challenging projects
