Installations Engineer - Water Industry
About the role
Installation Engineer – Water Industry
London & South East | £300–£400 per day | Outside IR35 | 12 months+ |
Know where your next 12 months of work is coming from.
Imagine a long-term AMP8 contract with a day rate that reflects your skills, outside IR35, on water infrastructure that really matters. That’s what’s on offer here.
Why this role?
Stability: 12+ months on a long-term AMP8 programme, with the potential for further contracts afterwards. No more chasing the next job in month eleven.
Strong earnings: £300–£400 per day, outside IR35 (LTD or PSC), with the top of the range for engineers with strong water-sector experience who can work independently on site.
Work you’ll be proud of: You’ll help deliver major water and wastewater projects across London and the South East that communities rely on every day.
Your skills, put to use: A hands-on role where your expertise is trusted, and you’ll work alongside established delivery teams, not on your own.
What your days will look like
You’ll install pipework, mechanical equipment and associated systems on water and wastewater sites, working from drawings and specifications. You’ll work with site managers, project engineers and subcontractors to keep jobs on programme. That means you’ll:
Run installation works safely and to a high standard, from RAMS and permits through to inspections and quality checks
Solve technical problems on site as they come up, so the job keeps moving
Support testing, commissioning and handover, and see your work go live
Keep clear installation records so progress is always visible
This will suit you if you have
Hands-on installation experience in the UK water, wastewater or utilities sector
Confidence reading engineering drawings and specifications
A solid grounding in site safety, RAMS and permit-to-work procedures
Relevant technical qualifications or demonstrable installation experience, plus a CSCS card or equivalent site access certification
Even better if you also bring
Thames Water experience or a Thames Water Passport
AMP6 or AMP7 programme experience
Clean water, sewage network, pipeline or treatment works installation experience
MEICA project exposure, or experience with pumps, valves and mechanical equipment
Testing, commissioning and handover experience
Next steps: no CV needed
