Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

Quantity Surveyor Location: Nottinghamshire Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 + package We are working with a highly regarded civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially stable and expanding business delivering projects across the UK. The Role You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from early-stage cost planning through to final account. This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably. Key Responsibilities * Manage project costs from pre-construction through to completion * Prepare valuations, cost reports, and forecasts * Administer subcontractor accounts, including payments and variations * Support tendering and pricing activities where required * Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities * Monitor project performance and report on financial position * Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders * Assist in negotiating and agreeing final accounts What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or civil engineering * Strong commercial awareness and cost control expertise * Experience managing projects through full lifecycle * Excellent negotiation and communication skills * Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred) What’s on Offer * Competitive salary with attractive package * Opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects * Stable, well-established business with strong growth * Clear progression opportunities within the commercial team
