Working: 9-day fortnight with every other Friday off Join the team in Hertfordshire, a specialist engineering site focused on deployable, high-performance communications tech the kind used when standard networks go down or don't exist. It's very hands-on, with teams designing and delivering systems that are used in real-world operations globally. Overview As a Prototype Wire Person, you will work as part of a small, collaborative team to produce high-quality communication equipment, ensuring all work meets required standards and delivery timescales. Main responsibilities: Carry out electro-mechanical assembly Build sub-assemblies and complete systems in line with engineering drawings and build procedures Monitor product quality throughout the build process, contributing to continuous improvement against production targets Panel wiring Cable assembly and crimping Rack wiring PCB assembly Assembly and rework of components Wiring of test boxes Soldering, including through-hole and surface-mount components Ensure the security of information in line with organisational information security policiesExperience needed: Proven experience in electrical/mechanical assembly and wiring, including prototype wiring High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining quality standards and the ability to work independently Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, following procedures accurately A proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn and develop Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required security clearance (BPSS)
