Buyer Exeter Permanent £35,000-£50,000 We’re looking for an experienced Buyer to join a leading groundworks & civil engineering contractor. This is a key position within the procurement function, where you’ll be responsible for securing the best prices for construction products and materials in line with project contracts. You’ll report to the Commercial Manager and play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsibilities include: * Procuring materials at the most competitive prices * Measuring quantities of materials as required * Comparing supplier quotes and analysing prices against tender allowances * Researching product information and alternatives * Liaising with site teams and suppliers regarding orders and deliveries * Maintaining organised records to prevent invoice queries * Managing stock lists and identifying cost-effective reuse opportunities * Assisting the accounts team with invoice resolution The ideal candidate will: * Have proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the construction, Civil Engineering or Groundworks industry * Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail * Possess strong negotiation and communication skills * Have a sound understanding of market research and pricing analysis * Be confident working closely with senior management For a confidential discussion, contact Abbie or Jo on (phone number removed) or apply today with your CV.
