- Rail £28,000-£35,000 basic (depending on experience) plus potential out-of-hours work supplementary payment and standby retainer We are recruiting for a well-established contractor that delivers maintenance, civil engineering and infrastructure works across the UK.

The business has a strong track record in rail and works directly across live, operational environments.

It has recently secured a new contract covering 26 railway stations and is now looking for a Pest Control Technician to manage and monitor pest control requirements across the portfolio.

The role will focus mainly on proactive pest monitoring, reactive treatments and bird-proofing works.

You will manage your own schedule across the stations, ensuring a pest-free environment in line with agreed service levels.

Day-to-day, the role will include: Carrying out routine pest control inspections and monitoring across 26 stations and lineside areas Responding to reactive pest call-outs and implementing effective treatment plans Installing and maintaining bird-proofing systems (netting, spikes, wire systems) Completing detailed service reports and keeping compliance logs accurate and up to date Liaising with station staff to provide advice on housekeeping and preventative measures Managing your own stock, equipment and company vehicle Taking part in an out-of-hours call-out rota when requiredThis would suit someone who is a self-motivated specialist who enjoys working autonomously, managing their own day and taking full ownership of their patch.

You will need a BPCA/RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management, solid experience in commercial pest control (experience with bird-proofing, netting or spiking is a distinct advantage) and a valid UK driving licence.

Previous rail experience and PTS would be useful, but the company is open to experienced commercial technicians who are willing to undergo rail track safety training.
