Mid-Level Software Engineer (Java) Exciting new FDI About the Company: Our client is a global leader in digital asset innovation, building technology that bridges traditional finance and the emerging crypto economy. Their mission is to create trusted, high-performance systems that enable institutions to seamlessly integrate digital assets into their portfolios and operations. As part of their continued global expansion, they are establishing a new engineering hub in Belfast focused on building the next generation of trading and connectivity technology. The Role: You'll join a brand-new engineering pod in Belfast tasked with building a real-time exchange connection layer to synchronize data between multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. Working in close collaboration with the global engineering team, you'll be involved in the design, development, and optimization of low-latency systems that handle large data flows in real time. As the Belfast hub grows, this pod will later be supported by QA, DevOps, and Support Engineers. Work with event-driven architectures to synchronize large volumes of data efficiently. * Optimize JVM performance and contribute to high-availability, low-latency system design. * Participate in agile development cycles, contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence. Essential Criteria: * 2+ years of software engineering experience (strong Java preferred; other languages considered if willing to pick up Java quickly). * Experience with AWS and event-driven architectures. * Exposure to financial systems or trading environments preferred. * Strong problem-solving mindset with an interest in performance optimization. * Work on cutting-edge digital asset and trading technology used by institutions worldwide. * Opportunity for long-term career progression as the Belfast hub expands. * Competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package.
