Job Description Residential Childcare Support Worker (Sessional/Casual) \n Location : East Huntspill, Highbridge \n Contract : Shift Pattern- ad-hoc cover \n Salary : £14.11- £14.77 (dependent on qualification) per hour plus sleep in shifts when required \n Headway Adolescent Resources were formed in 1999 and has established a good reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector, and pride themselves in having the insight and ability to care for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background. \n We are currently looking for Residential Child Care Workers to join our new residential home on a casual basis. This amazing opportunity will also allow you flexibility to work hours you can commit to with no contractual obligation \n Based in a children's residential home you will be working with young people with challenging behaviour, and you will need to be flexible, resilient, honest and well organised, as well as committed to providing a high standard of childcare to help young people achieve the best possible outcomes. \n Applicants must have: \n \n Previous experience of working with challenging young people, preferably in a residential setting (but not essential) \n Qualified to QCF level 3 in Children and Young People \n Be capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy, maintain clear, neat records \n Have good inter-personal skills, and be a positive team player \n Computer experience to an intermediate level \n The ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements. \n Empathetic nature \n Have good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts \n The ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people \n Full manual driving license essential. \n A sleep in allowance of £46 per night as and when the business needs. \n \n Headway is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
