Location: Devon

Salary: Up to GBP 70,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Advise a diverse portfolio of clients, from start‑ups to larger corporates, on a full spectrum of commercial arrangements, focusing on practical, commercially sound solutions.
• Handle business sales, acquisitions, and reorganisations, including negotiation and drafting of sale agreements and ancillary documents.
• Prepare and negotiate various commercial contracts, including intellectual property, licensing, franchise, agency, and consultancy agreements.
• Provide guidance on intellectual property rights and other commercial risks.
• Support clients with day‑to‑day legal and strategic business decisions.
• Manage own caseload, develop client relationships, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the team.
• Support junior colleagues, shape client service standards, and help drive business development initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified Commercial Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales.
• 2+ PQE with significant experience advising business clients on a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract law and ability to advise on complex legal issues in a clear, cohesive manner.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a broad range of technical issues relevant to clients’ businesses.
• Confidence in managing own caseload and developing client relationships.
