Accounting Manager

We have an excellent opportunity with a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Brighouse to join as a manager of the accounts preparation department.

The firm is looking for the appointed practice trained accountant to oversee the delivery of high-quality accounting services to a varied client portfolio. This is a non-audit position, focused on accounts, client advisory, and team management.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the accounts team, acting as a key link between the team and the practice owners.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and supervising a team of accountants and support staff
Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax computations
Ensuring compliance with professional standards and deadlines
Providing guidance, mentoring, and development support to junior team members
Acting as a point of contact for clients, offering clear and proactive advice
Reporting directly to the practice owners on team performance, workflow, and client matters
Supporting the overall efficiency and growth of the practice
The ideal candidate will be an experienced practice professional who is a manager or looking to step up in to a managerial role and is comfortable working in a leadership capacity and is passionate about delivering excellent service.

Key requirements:

ACA / ACCA qualified or suitably qualified by experience 
Strong background within a UK accountancy practice
Proven experience in reviewing accounts and managing staff
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
