ResponsibilitiesReporting to a Managing Director based in Dubai working within a specialist team as a delay and planning specialistSupporting the workload of Delay expert witnesses. Forensic investigation of project delays.Supporting live project work relating to project planning or distressed project advisory work.Providing independent expert opinion on delay matters and helping clients through complex arbitrations and contentious mattersWorking with the Dubai, Middle East and wider international team, including noted expertsHelping to identify the best strategy to individual claim, dispute and arbitration matters in order to assist clientsThe preparation of prospective and retrospective delay analyses across various project typesAssimilation of technical information along with evidence of delays and the presentation of information in both programmes and reports.The preparation of written reports for use in negotiation, as well as formal dispute resolutionRequirementsSuitable candidates will be looking to specialise further within delay and disruption analysis and dispute resolution, ideally with ambitions to be an expert witnessDegree and ideally also masters degree qualified in relevant construction and/or law, additional qualifications and charterships viewed favourably and ongoing professional development supported and encouragedStrong analytical problem-solving, and communications skills are essentialRecent experience either as a Delay Consultant or Delay Senior ConsultantIdeally but not essential, experience of assisting experts in arbitration-related work. Ideally your early career will stem from a minimum five years’ experience as a construction project planner, engineer, construction or project manager.A detailed understanding of different methods of delay analysis / SCL protocolThe ability to use planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject and/ or MS Project.A good working knowledge of various standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT & FIDICA demonstrable understanding of contract and law in particular relating to planning and delay.Strong written and oral presentation skills.experience drafting delay-related reports or briefing documents for management or stakeholdersAbility to communicate highly technical material to a non-technical audienceThis is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a highly successful and respected consultancy business.
