We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head or Senior Chef to enhance our culinary team in our well established and respected neighbourhood restaurant specialising in Brunch, stone baked pizza and relaxed evening dining, .

The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years' experience of working in a busy kitchen, hold a level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, possess strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Head or Senior Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained at all times. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the menu, manage staff, and uphold the reputation of our establishment.
A passion for fresh food, consistency and teamwork is essential. We welcome creativity and innovation, with opportunities to contribute ideas for menu development. Strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are important. Flexibility for some evenings and weekends required.
Responsibilities
Lead / supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food preparation.
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst maintaining consistency with our brand identity.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively.
Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment in line with hygiene regulations.
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment.
Extensive food production knowledge coupled with excellent cooking skills.
Strong team management capabilities with a focus on leadership and motivation.
Comprehensive understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating versatility across various cuisines.
Skilled in food preparation, presentation, and hospitality service.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
