Finance Director - Private Equity Backed Organisation

Our client is a dynamic, PE backed financial services firm based in Cardiff. They have a proven track record of delivering innovative lending solutions. The company is positioned for growth and seeks a strategic, results-oriented Finance Director to guide the next phase of its evolution

Role Summary

The Finance Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for all financial aspects of the company. You will play a critical role in driving the organisation’s financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risk, and supporting sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objecties.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and lending-specific laws.
• Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and capital management to meet operational and strategic requirements.
• Develop funding strategies and relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, the board, and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent with a strong academic background.
• Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior financial leader within a PE backed organisation.
• Experience leading strategic financial planning and managing complex financial operations.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
• Commercially astute with a focus on driving profitability and growth.
