Our Client

Our client is a growing waste management, recycling and resource recovery business operating across multiple sites. With a strong focus on service quality, sustainability and operational performance, the organisation is entering an important period of growth and development and is investing in its leadership capability to support the next stage of its evolution.

The Role

The Chief Operating Officer will provide senior leadership across collection, logistics, processing and site operations, with responsibility for operational performance, resource deployment, health and safety, compliance and the effective coordination of activity across a multi-site environment.

A key focus will be strengthening operational capability, ensuring clear standards, effective processes and strong management disciplines are embedded throughout the organisation. Working closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, the COO will translate business priorities into practical operational plans, develop leadership capability and ensure the business has the structure, systems and resources required to support continued growth. The role will also involve using operational data to improve decision-making, productivity, service quality and cost performance.

Candidates will bring senior operational leadership experience within logistics, transport, manufacturing, distribution, waste management, environmental services or another process-driven environment. Strong commercial understanding will be important, together with experience of budgets, cost control and operational improvement. The successful candidate will be practical and credible in approach, comfortable operating within a growing organisation and capable of balancing operational performance, customer requirements and wider business objectives.
