About the role
Salary:
£26,000£28,000 per annum
(depending on experience) Key Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners. Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Audio and copy typing with a high degree of accuracy. Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates. Handling incoming telephone calls, emails, and client enquiries professionally. Opening, maintaining, and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures. Liaising with clients, barristers, courts, and third parties. Filing documents electronically and maintaining accurate records. Assisting with document production, bundles, and legal forms. Managing incoming and outgoing post. Supporting billing processes, including preparing invoices and processing expenses where required. Ensuring compliance with confidentiality, GDPR, and the firm's policies and procedures. Undertaking any other administrative duties as required to support the department. Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Secretary within a professional services environment. Excellent typing and document formatting skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Professional and courteous communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams. A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Desirable
Experience using legal case management systems. Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology. Experience supporting one or more legal practice areas. What We Offer
