NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in
South Manchester
to recruit an
Accounts Senior . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to join a collaborative and forward-thinking firm that prides itself on delivering an exceptional service to a varied portfolio of SME clients. Reporting to the Managers and Partners, you will take responsibility for managing your own portfolio of clients, preparing statutory accounts, supporting junior team members and building strong client relationships. This role offers genuine career progression within a growing practice. Accounts Senior Responsibilities
Preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of sectors
Preparing and reviewing management accounts
Preparing VAT returns and corporation tax computations
Reviewing bookkeeping work completed by junior team members
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
Providing day-to-day accounting advice and resolving client queries
Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring and training
Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients where required
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
Assisting Managers and Partners with ad-hoc projects and client advisory work
Accounts Senior Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you
must
have the following: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
ACA / ACCA Qualified, Finalist or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
Experience preparing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio
Good knowledge of VAT and corporation tax
Experience managing client relationships
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience using cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
Desirable: Experience reviewing the work of junior staff
Experience using IRIS, CCH or similar practice software
Ambition to progress into a Client Manager position
