About the role

18.5 hours per week. The Direct Payments Team is seeking to recruit an Independent Living Advisor. The team is newly formed, so this is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development and design of the team. The Independent Living Advisor offers information and advice to citizens who are considering a direct payment to commission their own care as outlined within their individual care and support plan. The role involves supporting citizens to effectively manage their direct payment appropriately.

  • Supporting individuals in all aspects of setting up and running their Direct Payment.
  • Provide a bespoke service to each individual.
  • Work as a team to ensure relevant support is provided to individuals and staff.
  • Ensuring integrity and accuracy of data on Direct Payment and WCBC systems.
  • The role is responsible for the effective delivery of service outcomes in line with service criteria and performance indicators.
  • The service supports individuals in receipt of Direct Payments across both adults and children’s services. Previous experience of working with or personal experience of supporting vulnerable people/families would be an advantage for this role.

An enhanced DBS is required for this position.
