About the role
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a leading global law firm that's looking to strengthen its UK employment and labour practice with an experienced Senior Associate. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a market-leading team that sits within one of the largest employment practices in the UK advising multinational businesses on a variety of board-level, regulatory, contentious and transactional employment matters. The client base is impressive and varied, spanning financial services, media, technology, retail, transport and fmcg – with instructions from some genuinely recognisable international brands.
The Role:
You'll be joining a busy, high-performing team and can expect real variety in your workload, including:
- HR advisory work for major clients
- Global and cross-border employment projects
- Employment aspects of corporate/M&A transactions and restructuring
- DEI-related advisory work
- Workplace investigations
- Senior exits and outsourcing arrangements
You’ll also get exposure to large-scale, multi-jurisdictional projects, working alongside colleagues across the firm's international network – a strong option for anyone keen to build genuinely global experience.
Beyond fee-earning work, you'll be expected to build your own client relationships, get involved in business development and contribute to the team's thought leadership and external profile – with genuine support and platform to do so.
What's Needed:
- Solid, demonstrable employment law expertise, ideally gained advising large corporates
- Experience supporting transactional/corporate work from an employment perspective
- Exposure to international or multinational clients would be a distinct advantage
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own matters
- Strong drafting and legal research skills
The Right Fit:
- Has genuine ambition to develop as a leading Employment Lawyer, with an eye on partnership
- Thrives in a high-performance, client-focused environment
- Has an entrepreneurial mindset toward business development and building a market profile
- Brings strong commercial and financial awareness
- Is a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgement
- Takes ownership of their own career development
Why Consider This Move:
This is a firm with genuine scale and reach, giving Solicitors at all levels the platform to develop internationally focused expertise while working with first-rate clients closer to home. The team is growing, well-regarded in the market and offers real scope for career progression for the right candidate. Flexible working arrangements are open for discussion and the firm has a strong, genuinely embedded commitment to inclusion and diversity.
