About the role
Planning Lawyer required for a 6 month period, to work for a local authority. The role will be paying up to £450 p/day and will have a flexible working pattern.
Main duties of the role include:-
Prepare s106 Agreements
Prepare Highways Agreements under s38 and s278 Highways Act
Experience of dealing with complex drafting work
Ability to advise in relation to policy and strategic matters
Give general advice in relation to both Planning and Highways matters
Analyse and make decisions on legal issues with minimum supervision
Organise own workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing and in particular to deliver clear and succinct advice and submissions
Type and prepare letters and documents accurately
Be able to work within the Council's case management system and follow basic time recording practicesThe ideal candidate will have experience of working within local government practice such as criminal litigation, licensing and regulatory law, constitutional and administrative law and planning enforcement.
