Role Introduction
Shellen is seeking skilled Site Engineers / Operatives to join our growing delivery team, working on fire safety projects across London and the Home Counties.
This is an agency-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to progress into a long-term role within an established and respected passive fire protection company.
The successful candidates will play a key role in carrying out FRA (Fire Risk Assessment) remediation works, ensuring that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest compliance standards.
Skills and Experience - Essential
* Relevant trade background (e.g., carpentry, fire protection, or construction).
* Proven experience in fire door installation and/or FRA remediation works.
* Knowledge of fire stopping, compartmentation, and containment methods.
* Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to safety and compliance.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Medium panel van.
* Enhanced DBS check
Desirable
* CSCS Card
* Trade qualifications
* Experience working in social housing or other live, resident-occupied settings.
* Familiarity with IT-based reporting platforms or mobile site applications.
Brief JD Responsibilities:
* Carry out installation, maintenance, and remedial works on fire doors, fire stopping, compartmentation, and containment systems.
* Support the site management team in delivering high-quality and compliant fire safety works.
* Undertake inspections, repairs, and upgrades in accordance with FRA recommendations and fire regulations.
* Maintain clear and accurate records using digital reporting tools.
* Work professionally and respectfully within occupied social housing environments, maintaining strong communication with residents and clients.
* Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Shellen’s quality standards and procedures.
