Working closely with schools, local authorities, and families, we provide flexible, learner-centred support that helps young people re-engage, rebuild confidence, and achieve meaningful outcomes.We are looking for qualified and licensed Thrive Practitioners to join us on a contractual basis to carry out Thrive assessments for learners across our Alternative Provision placements. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your expertise to shape the emotional wellbeing and development of children and young people with SEND, SEMH, and EBSA needs.About the RoleAs a Thrive Assessor working with AP Education, you will:
- Complete initial and termly Thrive assessments to identify each learner's social and emotional developmental stage.
- Plot progress across areas such as emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem, and relationships.
- Produce clear, action-focused reports and recommended strategies to guide tutors, families, and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with our Education Delivery Coordinators (EDCos) to ensure assessment outcomes are embedded into each learner's Individualised Learning Plan (ILP).
- Ensure the learner's voice and family input remain central throughout the process.
- Uphold safeguarding best practice at every stage.
- A current, valid Thrive Licensed Practitioner qualification.
- Experience assessing children and young people, ideally within SEND, SEMH, or Alternative Provision settings.
- Strong report-writing skills and the ability to translate assessment findings into practical strategies.
- A warm, patient, trauma-informed approach.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Self-employed status and the ability to work flexibly across placements.
