Building Fabric Maintainer
Summary
We’re seeking a skilled Building Fabric Maintainer to join an established facilities management team working on a high-profile nuclear power station project. This role is ideal for experienced trade professionals with a background in building maintenance who are looking for long-term, stable work in a safety-critical environment.
Salary
£18.51 per hour basic rate, with overtime available up to £37.02 per hour

Client Overview

Operating within the nuclear energy sector, they deliver essential services that maintain the integrity, safety and efficiency of power generation sites. Their teams cover a wide range of disciplines, including building fabric maintenance, M&E engineering support, and statutory compliance activities. By combining technical expertise with stringent safety protocols, they ensure plants operate reliably, meet regulatory requirements, and continuously improve sustainability performance.
Responsibilities
Carry out planned, preventive and corrective maintenance on building fabric and associated infrastructures
Respond promptly to reactive repair requests within designated areas of the plant
Undertake installation and refurbishment tasks related to partitions, doors, ceilings, flooring, and other structural elements
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements
Complete detailed work records and documentation in line with site protocols
Support operational teams to minimise downtime and optimise on-site performance
Ensure all work adheres to strict health, safety, and environmental regulations
Assist with minor project works or upgrades as directed by the supervisor
Must-have Requirements
Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade, or a minimum of 5+ years’ time-served experience in a similar role
Demonstrable experience in building fabric maintenance within industrial or high-security settings
Strong awareness of health, safety, and compliance practices
Nice-to-have Skills
CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) Nuclear Clearance – can be facilitated through NRL if not currently held
Familiarity with nuclear site protocols and procedures
Multi-skilled capability across various trades disciplines
