About the role
Murphy is recruiting for a Procurement Manager to work with the Energy Team on the ETP Project initially based in Kentish Town, the travelling to sites in Fleet and Minety in the future.Today we support groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects in four countries - ensuring their energy security for decades to come.We deliver Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects serving both regulated and private customers along with technical and engineering solutions within the conventional power and energy transition markets. A day in the life of a Murphy Procurement Manager Deliver procurement of key materials and subcontract packages for natural resource projects: High Pressure Pipelines, Compressor stations and Above Ground Installations (AGIs), including (but not limited to):- Procurement & Supply Chain StrategySupply Chain ManagementOperational Procurement – procurement of key materials and subcontract packagesProcure mechanical and electrical equipment including pipework, valves, fittings, skid units, gas flow and conditioning equipment, and electrical, control and instrumentation as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.Report into Head of Procurement – Energy, to facilitate business unit level procurement and supply chain managementTravel to project sites as required. The role will be based between a regional office with regular visits to the project sites.Manage project procurement requirements including procurement schedule and drafting Invitation to Tenders. Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.Managing supply chain relationships. from placement of order to delivery to site Monitoring and managing quality and QA systems adherence Negotiating subcontract and purchase order terms and conditions. [Source, evaluate, approve and select potential new supply chain partners, ensuring they meet quality standards and programme schedules.Monitor the supply chain workload and financial status to manage performance and failure risks.MCIPS or similarExperience within a technical procurement environment with a solid knowledge of mechanical equipment Experience with subcontract procurementExperience within a project based construction/engineering procurement or commercial roleCommercially astuteTravel to project sites as required.
