Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Job Title: Small Works Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Location: Exeter (Office-Based) Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience About the Role Our client, a growing and well-established contractor, is looking for a Small Works Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team in Exeter. This role suits someone who enjoys variety and pace. You will manage the full commercial and estimating lifecycle on fast-moving small works, fit-out, and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to £2m. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate tenders, cost estimates, and pricing from drawings and specifications Manage the full QS lifecycle including interim valuations, variations, cost control, and final accounts Procure subcontractors and manage subcontractor accounts Produce regular cost reports and forecasts to ensure projects remain profitable Work closely with site teams and clients on fast-track schemes About You: Background in small works, fit-out, refurbishment, or similar fast-paced environments Experience in both estimating and quantity surveying Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Ability to work autonomously in a busy team Good knowledge of JCT contracts is advantageous This is an excellent permanent opportunity offering variety, autonomy, and career development within a supportive company.
