About the role
Utilities Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Utilities Manager to join a leading housebuilding business based in Warrington.
The role will oversee utility connections, statutory authorities and third-party service works from project inception through to completion. This will include obtaining quotations, supporting procurement, managing off-site and on-site works, and ensuring connections are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality.
You will identify commercial, technical and operational risks, support value engineering opportunities and work closely with construction, commercial and design teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage utility connections and service installations from inception to completion.
- Obtain quotations and ensure utility orders are placed and progressed in line with programme.
- Develop and communicate project utility programmes.
- Manage applications, POCs, diversions, meters and service connections.
- Liaise with utility providers, statutory authorities, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Support commercial teams with procurement, quotations, scopes and payment applications.
- Review services designs and ensure technical queries are resolved.
- Ensure all required certification, testing and commissioning is completed.
- Support site teams in securing temporary power and water.
- Identify and manage contractual, financial, technical and operational risks.
- Ensure designs and contractor RAMS meet relevant legislation, health & safety requirements and best practice.
About You
- HNC or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working with utilities within the housebuilding or residential development sector.
- Strong knowledge of utilities legislation and service connection processes.
- Experience securing POCs, service diversions and utilities for new developments.
- Good understanding of the technical aspects of utility service delivery.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT/MS Office skills.
- Commercially aware, organised and resilient, with the ability to work to deadlines.
