HGV Class 2 Drivers – 6 Vacancies Pay: £15.87–£22.87 per hour Benefits: Free On-site parking, temporary and permanent positions available, subsidised CPC training Driver Hire Preston is recruiting six professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to support our logistics operations.
The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.
You will deliver goods safely and efficiently to a range of locations, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of vehicle care.
Key responsibilities Operate Class 2 HGVs safely, complying with road traffic laws, transport regulations and company policies.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
Load and unload goods safely, ensuring loads are secured correctly to prevent damage during transit.
Plan efficient delivery routes and meet agreed delivery schedules.
Maintain accurate delivery notes, manifests and driving records.
Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers and colleagues, providing timely updates on deliveries or delays.
Keep vehicles clean and presentable, representing Driver Hire professionally at every delivery.
Essential requirements A valid UK-issued HGV Class 2 licence, held for at least one year.
Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards.
No more than six penalty points on your driving licence.
A sound understanding of driving regulations, road safety and vehicle inspection procedures.
A reliable, punctual approach and a strong commitment to customer service.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
