Secondary Cover History Teacher – Maternity Cover

Start Date: 11th May

Pay Rate: £140 – £200 per day (dependent on experience)

Education People are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Somerset to recruit a Cover History Teacher for a maternity cover position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate History teacher to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and well-established school environment.

The Role:

• Deliver engaging, pre-planned History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
• Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
• Create a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment
• Support students of all abilities to progress and achieve
• Provide feedback and work collaboratively with the Humanities department

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience teaching or covering lessons within a secondary school setting
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be adaptable, reliable, and confident in building rapport quickly with students
• Hold QTS/QTLS (preferred) or have relevant experience as a cover supervisor or unqualified teacher
• Have a genuine passion for History and inspiring young people
