Facilities Manager
Location: Stratford, East London
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000
Bonus: 10%
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to join the Centre Management team at a high-profile shopping mall in Stratford, East London.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where you will take full responsibility for hard services, contractor performance, compliance, sustainability initiatives, and budget management. You’ll play a crucial part in maintaining the asset’s premium standard while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The Role As Facilities Manager, you will:
Lead and manage hard services contractors, ensuring exceptional service delivery
Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes
Conduct regular inspections and ensure high-quality workmanship
Manage contracts, tender processes, and service level agreements
Take ownership of health & safety compliance, CDM regulations, and audit readiness
Manage budgets, forecasts, and service charge expenditure
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
Drive sustainability strategies and environmental best practice
Deputise for the Senior Facilities Manager when required
Provide leadership and support to the wider facilities teamWorking Hours & Duty Rota This role is based on a 40-hour working week and includes participation in the Duty Manager rota.
On average, you will work 1 in 5 Saturdays and 1 in 10 Sundays
Saturday shifts: 08:00 – 16:00 or 12:00 – 20:00
Sunday shifts: 11:00 – 19:00
You will also cover 4 late duties per month, typically:
12:00 – 20:00 or 13:00 – 21:00 (weekday shifts)Flexibility is required to support the operational needs of the centre.
About You We’re looking for a commercially minded, technically strong facilities professional with:
Proven experience in Facilities Management within a complex commercial or retail environment
Strong contract management and procurement experience
Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
Demonstrable experience managing budgets and driving value
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Solid understanding of building services and mechanical systemsQualifications:
NEBOSH or IOSH (essential)
M&E experience (desirable)
Legionella awareness/training
Relevant professional accreditationsWhy Apply?
