The company operates across air, sea and road freight and has built a trusted network of overseas partners, allowing it to provide tailored solutions for a wide range of customers.Why join?Salary of up to 35,000, depending on experienceJoin an established and financially stable international freight forwarderWork within a close-knit, experienced operations teamOpportunity to handle a varied range of international air freight shipmentsA genuinely customer-focused and solutions-led working environmentStrong network of international partners and suppliersCompany with extensive experience across air, sea and road freightOpportunity to develop your career within an established independent businessThe RoleReporting to the Team Manager, you will support the day-to-day handling of air freight shipments from booking through to completion.You will deal directly with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliers, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and kept moving efficiently.Your responsibilities will include:Managing air import and export shipments from booking through to completionPreparing and checking air freight documentationLiaising with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliersMonitoring shipment progress and following up on delays or missing informationResponding to customer queries and providing regular shipment updatesSupporting quotations, rate requests and booking arrangementsChecking supplier invoices, costs and shipment chargesMaintaining accurate job files and system recordsResolving operational issues and escalating where necessaryWorking closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operationProviding a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycleAbout YouWe are looking for someone who already has solid experience within air freight forwarding and understands the pace and requirements of an operational environment.You will ideally have:Previous experience in an Air Freight Operator / Air Freight Coordinator positionGood knowledge of air freight processes, documentation and terminologyExperience handling import and/or export shipmentsStrong customer service and communication skillsThe ability to manage multiple shipments and competing prioritiesGood attention to detail and organisational skillsA positive, reliable and proactive approachThe ability to work effectively as part of a teamMost importantly, we are looking for someone who knows air freight, enjoys dealing with people and wants to join an established business where they can make a genuine contribution to the continued development of the operation.Salary: Up to 35,000 DOELocation: Caterham, SurreyJob Type: Full-time, PermanentWR Logistics are a leading recruitment partner for the logistics and supply chain industry, recruiting across the UK, Europe, and the USA for permanent opportunities.WR Logistics is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
