Buyer – Construction Location: Nottinghamshire Salary: £38,000 – £48,000 + package We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering and construction contractor with a strong presence across the UK. With decades of industry experience and a solid project pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a Buyer to support their growing commercial and procurement function. Operating within infrastructure and civil engineering projects, the business delivers a wide range of schemes and continues to expand its supply chain and delivery capability . The Role As Buyer, you will play a key role in sourcing and procuring materials, plant, and subcontract services to support project delivery. You’ll work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement. Key Responsibilities * Manage procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages * Source and evaluate suppliers, ensuring best value and quality * Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors * Place and track orders in line with project programmes * Build and maintain strong supplier relationships * Work closely with site and commercial teams to meet project requirements * Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities * Ensure compliance with company procurement processes What We’re Looking For * Previous experience in a Buyer / Procurement role within construction or civil engineering * Strong negotiation and supplier management skills * Good understanding of construction materials and supply chain * Organised and able to manage multiple priorities * Confident communicator and team player What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Long-term career progression within a growing contractor * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Exposure to a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects
