Based near Clapham Junction, they’re looking for a driven Residential Assistant Project Manager & Estimator to work alongside their Project Manager and help keep jobs running smoothly from quote to completion.
Working on small scale domestic projects for homeowners, this is a hands-on, fast-paced role — perfect for a multi skilled tradesman that is looking to step away from being on the tools or someone that has performed a similar role before.
The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a house and spot if the tiler or plumber has made an error and be able to resolve it, who understands site realities but is equally confident organising works, managing engineers, and dealing with clients.
What’s in it for you:
- Circa £40,000 salary, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 5:00 pm
- Permanent, stable role in an established company that has operated in the area for 25 years.
- Varied work — no two days the same
- Real responsibility and autonomy
- Opportunity to grow with the business and progress your career
Key Responsibilities of the Residential Assistant Project Manager & Estimator:
- Working closely with the Project Manager to book in works and prepare quotes
- Planning, scheduling and managing engineers’ daily workloads
- Coordinating jobs from first call through to successful completion
- Answering client calls and liaising with homeowners, tenants, landlords and agents
- Handling client enquiries, requests and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Visiting properties to assess works, scope jobs and schedule resources
- Keeping everything organised, documented and running on time
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or strong on-site residential experience
- Background in the domestic & residential construction / maintenance sector
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Preference given to local applicants
- Confident working both in the office and on-site
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and support engineers
- Excellent English (spoken and written – non-negotiable)
- Highly organised, detail-focused and proactive
- Able to work independently, make decisions, and solve problems on the go
- Solid understanding of on-site processes so you can accurately assess and book works
