Job Title: BMS & Controls Engineering Manager
Job Purpose
Responsible for managing and administering the installed control system and ensuring technical matters relating to Control Systems Plant and Equipment Maintenance on site follow Health, Safety, Environmental and Legislative requirements.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist the engineering management team with the mobilisation of the BMS function and associated controls
* Develop and manage the BMS maintenance program
* Monitor BMS for running and alarm conditions.
* Provide a Technical point of contact for Client and Site Technical Staff while ensuring all planned / reactive works on various systems are completed to the correct client and legislative standard.
* Monitor and assure the environmental controls within the building / specialist areas conform to the required specifications and tolerances.
* Ensure change control is applied to documentation, software and hardware.
* Develop methods of communicating changes to client and internal teams.
* Review alarm management protocols.
* Liaise with site and client management during any emergency operations or procedures.
* Responsible for equipment and services inspections, testing, planned maintenance, modifications and fault finding.
* Investigations, diagnoses and rectification of faults on mechanical / electrical distribution systems, plant and equipment when appointed to do so.
* Start up, operation and shut down of service plant, equipment and systems when authorized.
* Report to and seek advice from the Engineering Leaders on all matters appertaining to Operational matters, Regulatory and Statutory compliance.
* Carry-out Technical and Quality Audits to ensure assets and operations are technically and statutory compliant.
* Identify and agree system enhancements to improve resilience and performance.
Person Specification
* Extensive experience in BMS administration and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical distribution systems.
* A proven track record in mobilisation or setting up maintenance programs for large-scale control systems.
* Exceptional fault-finding skills across complex plant and equipment.
* The ability to translate complex technical data into clear, professional reports for stakeholders and clients.
* A disciplined approach to regulatory and statutory compliance, with a focus on risk mitigation.
* Strong communication skills and the leadership presence to advise engineering leaders on operational matters
