About the role

Ringway Infrastructure Services is looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join our Kent contract team.


About the Role:

This is a hands-on, site-focused position supporting operational teams across multiple depots and work locations. You'll play a key role in driving a positive safety culture, coaching supervisors and managers, and ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with company and legislative requirements.


Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Environmental, you will work closely with Operations Managers, supervisors and site teams, providing practical HSE support across the Kent contract. The role is predominantly site based, requiring regular travel across operational locations throughout the region.


What You'll Do:

• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.

• Support supervisors and managers with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

• Coach and mentor operational teams to improve health and safety performance.

• Identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.

• Monitor compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

• Investigate incidents and support root cause analysis where required.

• Produce reports, safety data and performance information.

• Build strong working relationships with operational leadership teams and key stakeholders.

• Promote a proactive safety culture across all work activities.


About You:

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor position.

• Experience within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or a similar operational environment.

• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.

• Experience undertaking site audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• The ability to work independently across multiple sites.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to health, safety and environmental management.

• Full UK Driving Licence.


Essential Qualifications:

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.


Desirable Qualifications:

• IOSH Membership.

• Temporary Works Coordinator.

• CDM experience.

• Incident Investigation training.

• Additional highways or infrastructure-related qualifications.
