About the Role
R9 Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Hybrid Heat Pump Engineer – Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown to join the field force of one of Europe’s largest appliance manufacturers. This is a home-based role covering the DE and NG postcode areas, offering long-term stability, structured working patterns, and an excellent benefits package.
You will deliver high-quality servicing, fault diagnosis, and breakdown repairs across a mixed portfolio of domestic gas appliances and hybrid heat pump systems, working to strict manufacturer standards while consistently providing an excellent customer experience.
This role is suited to engineers who are confident working independently, managing busy schedules, and meeting productivity and quality targets within a performance-driven environment.
Working Pattern
* Home-based role, travelling directly to customer appointments
* All jobs issued electronically via company laptop
* Engineers must contact customers each morning to confirm ETA
* No fixed start or finish times; however, engineers must be:
* At their first appointment by 9:00am, or
* 12:30pm for later-start routes
* All allocated jobs must be completed on the same working day
Workload & Team Structure
* Average workload of 7–8 jobs per day, depending on location and mileage
* Jobs allocated with route efficiency and minimal travel time in mind
* Strong manufacturer and technical support structure
Spares & Logistics
* Overnight spares replenishment delivered directly to the engineer’s vehicle
* Engineers must have:
* Suitable off-road parking at home for a company vehicle
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on domestic gas boilers and hybrid heat pump systems
* Complete planned servicing and reactive breakdown work
* Ensure all work is delivered in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in domestic gas service and breakdown work
* Experience working with heat pumps or hybrid heating systems (training support available where applicable)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across gas and low-carbon systems
* Full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits Package
* Competitive basic salary of £43,653 per annum
