SEN Primary Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
- Location: Wyre (PR3)
- Job Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Salary: Competitive
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Wyre (PR3). This role is crucial in facilitating an inclusive and supportive environment that caters to the specific needs of the child, ensuring their educational and developmental progress.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with ASD, focusing on educational tasks and social interactions.
- Implement strategies to assist the child in achieving their learning objectives, as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Engage the child in activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Monitor the child's progress and collaborate with teachers and parents to adjust approaches as needed.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that supports the child's needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in supporting children with ASD or other special educational needs.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD and ability to adapt support accordingly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to the challenges of SEN support.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are preferred.
- Must possess or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.
