We are looking for an experienced Finance Team Lead (Income) to take ownership of income management, including rent, service charges, and arrears recovery, while leading a high-performing team Client Details Our client is a newly formed, forward-thinking housing organisation created through the merger of two established providers. Description The Role As Finance Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income accounting and collection, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across processes. You will play a pivotal role in: Managing rent and service charge income processes Driving effective income collection and rent recovery strategies Leading and developing a team of Finance Officers Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and audit standards Delivering accurate reconciliations and financial reporting Key Responsibilities Oversee the end-to-end processing of rent, service charges, and other income streams Lead on rent arrears monitoring, income recovery, and bad debt management Ensure accurate service charge accounting, including annual reviews and adjustments Manage income reconciliation, banking operations, and financial controls Develop and implement strategies to maximise income collection Improve and streamline finance systems and processes Produce high-quality financial insights and reports for senior stakeholders Act as a key liaison with internal teams, auditors, and external partners Lead, coach, and develop a team to deliver excellent performance Profile We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who bring: ✅ Essential Proven experience in service charge accounting Strong background in rent recovery / income management / arrears Experience working in housing, public sector, or a similar environment Demonstrable leadership and team management experience Strong financial reconciliation and reporting skills✅ Desirable Knowledge of housing finance regulations Experience with financial systems and process improvement Professional finance qualification (or equivalent experience)Job Offer Opportunity to shape and improve income functions in a growing organisation Be part of a modern, purpose-driven housing provider Hybrid working and flexible approach Strong emphasis on development and career progression
