Leakage Technician / Utility Engineer

Leakage Technician (Freelance) – Water Sector Location: Sussex Rate: £400 – £700 per day (DOE) Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Freelance (with potential for permanent role) A well-established contractor in the water sector is seeking experienced Leakage Technicians to join their growing team across the South of England. With a strong and sustained pipeline of work, this is an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals looking for immediate contract work with the potential to transition into a permanent position. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out active leakage control activities on water networks * Use acoustic and electronic leak detection equipment to identify leaks * Perform step testing, noise logging, and pressure management * Accurately record and report findings in line with client requirements * Work independently or as part of a team across multiple sites * Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with industry standards Requirements: * Proven experience as a Leakage Technician within the water industry * Strong knowledge of leak detection methods and equipment * Full UK driving licence * Good communication and reporting skills Required / Expected Tickets & Certifications: * EUSR Water Hygiene (Blue Card) – essential * NRSWA / Street Works (Units 1 & 2 or equivalent) – essential * CSCS Card – preferred * Manual Handling – preferred * First Aid at Work / Emergency First Aid – preferred * Confined Space Training (Medium/High Risk) – advantageous * National Water Hygiene / SHEA Water – advantageous What’s on Offer: * Immediate start with ongoing, long-term work * Competitive day rates (£400–£700 depending on experience) * Opportunity to secure a permanent position * Supportive team environment with consistent workload If you’re an experienced Leakage Technician ready to start immediately and interested in long-term opportunities, we’d like to hear from you.
