About the role
- Provide strategic leadership for local community planning, ensuring local priorities are translated into action and measurable outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate partnerships across public, voluntary, community and private sectors to maximise community benefit and improve quality of life.
- Champion a collaborative "One Council" approach, connecting services and partners around shared ambitions for people and place.
- Support communities to build capacity, strengthen resilience and address the causes of inequality and disadvantage.
- Act as Lead Officer to the Area Committee, working closely with elected members and facilitating strong local democratic engagement.
- Lead local investment decisions, including Community Planning budgets, anti-poverty funding and community grant programmes.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement and partnership-led solutions that deliver better outcomes for local people.
Requirements
- A degree (SCQF Level 9) or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of community planning and place-based approaches.
- Significant experience of partnership working across public, voluntary and community sectors.
- Proven leadership experience, including developing teams and leading organisational change.
- Experience of working with elected members and navigating complex political environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to think strategically while delivering practical solutions that make a difference locally.
