About the role

ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of MEP works across five shafts, associated headhouses, and two portal buildings.Manage the full lifecycle from detailed design through mobilisation and construction delivery.Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.Ensure MEP works are delivered safely, to programme, within budget, and meeting quality standards.Review and manage detailed design outputs for constructability and efficiency.Oversee contractor performance and programme adherence.Manage risks, opportunities, interfaces, and control changes throughout the project.Monitor progress, report milestones, and implement recovery plans when required.Support procurement, commissioning, testing, and handover activities.Produce reports and updates for senior management and key stakeholders.Must-have RequirementsProven experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale MEP works.Background in major infrastructure or complex projects such as rail, tunnelling, utilities, or energy.In-depth knowledge of: Mechanical systemsElectrical systemsBuilding servicesPublic health systemsTesting and commissioningExperience managing full project cycles through design, mobilisation, and construction phases.Strong capabilities in contractor and multidisciplinary team coordination.Excellent programme and stakeholder management skills.Experience in regulated environments and strong leadership skills.Nice-to-have SkillsPrevious experience on HS2 or similar major rail or tunnelling projects.Exposure to MEP delivery in shafts, portals, tunnels, or major infrastructure assets.Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.Chartered status or working towards it.Familiarity with NEC contracts and project controls processes.Location and Working PatternMaple Cross, Hertfordshire (South Portal Site)Full-time on-site roleContract duration: August 2026 to late 2028About NRLThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
