Estimator (Electrical/ M&E) Location: Dartford Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Due to growth, my client, a leading M&E Building Services provider are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. The Electrical Estimator will play a crucial role in analysing project specifications and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates. This position requires the Estimator to have a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Duties Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and overheads. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and constraints. Conduct market research to gather current pricing information for materials and services. Identify potential risks and opportunities within projects that may affect costs. Maintain accurate records of estimates, including changes and revisions. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients. Assist in the development of cost control measures to ensure project budgets are adhered to. Skills Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimation. Proficient in cost control methodologies and practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A background in construction or engineering is advantageous but not essential.
