A team that is growing and looking for a successful candidate to help lead continued expansion within our Personal Injury practice and build strong relationships with key insurer and corporate clients.
Our General Insurance team at DWF provides market‑leading expertise across Personal Injury. We are currently seeking a Solicitor, Senior Solicitor or Associate to handle a varied caseload of litigated motor recovery claims.
We are looking for someone with experience in defender motor recoveries work, including recovery of outlay, credit hire disputes, uninsured loss recovery, and property damage claims. Cases may be raised at summary cause, ordinary sheriff court, and Court of Session level.
The role will involve reviewing evidence and progressing claims through to successful recovery, whether by settlement, negotiation, or proof, in line with client service level agreements and commercial objectives.
The role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
As a Solicitor, Senior Solicitor or Associate within our Personal Injury team, you will:
- Manage a caseload of Personal Injury claims, including Motor, RTA, EL/PL, Serious injury and Large Loss.
- Work closely with partners and clients to develop recovery strategies and maximise financial outcomes.
- Draft pleadings, prepare client reports, and attend court hearings where required.
- Progress liability investigations, gather evidence, instruct experts, and analyse quantum disputes.
- Prioritise work effectively, ensuring adherence to court deadlines, procedural rules, and client SLAs.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support client delivery and future business growth.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Desirable criteria:
- 1+ years PQE, ideally within Personal Injury or insurance litigation.
- Experience handling Motor, RTA, EL/PL, Serious injury and Large Loss.
- We will also consider NQs with relevant training seat experience or a demonstrable interest in motor recoveries.
- Strong technical ability and commercial awareness within litigation.
- Experience managing a caseload independently or supporting senior lawyers on more complex claims.
- Comfortable working in a client‑focused, commercial environment.
