Interim Head of Care and Support,L'Arche Manchester ABOUT THE ROLE Salary:£38,870.89 per annum Hours of work:37.5 hours per week (including some evening and weekend working, and regular on-call) Reports to : LArche Manchester Community Leader Place of work : LArche Manchester Community, Manchester M20 4AW.

Some travel and overnight stays will be required within the UK Contract type:Temporary, 12-month contract Closing date:Thursday, 21st May at 12 pm Main purpose of the role We are looking for a passionate, caring and proactive Head of Care and Support who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a high quality, person-centred care and support service for adults with learning disabilities.

As a Head of Care and Support, you will: Have the patience, enthusiasm and compassion to contribute to the life of a Community which reflects LArches vision and values.

Hold responsibility for sustaining LArche Manchesters readiness for inspection in partnership with the Community Leader (who holds the CQC registration).

Line manage House and Locality Leaders, providing regular supervision and appraisals to ensure that excellent standards of care are maintained across the service.

Work in close partnership with the Community Leader and other members of the Coordinating team.

Participate in staff recruitment, induction and training and staff disciplinary matters.

Key essential criteria Health and social care qualification.

Demonstrable experience of a minimum 3 years of management experience in social care, including supervisory experience in health and social care.

Good financial planning skills and experience managing a substantial budget.

Knowledge of current care and support legislation and good practice, including adult protection and capacity issues.

Experience of leading and working with teams to provide high-quality support and care to people with learning disabilities.

Ability to manage the performance and development of others: to be able to assess, give feedback, manage conflict and make evaluative judgements about the performance of staff and volunteers.

Knowledge and experience in social care or supported housing is a key requirement for this role, but were also looking for someone with a commitment to our values and the ability to inspire others.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS criminal record check.
